HKMA Institute of Healthcare Management
In view of the increasing demand for quality healthcare services and the projected management talent needs of the industry, The Hong Kong Management Association has established the Institute of Healthcare Management (HCM) in March this year, with a vision to be the leading institution advancing management excellence in the healthcare sector in Hong Kong and the Region. It is an excellent opportunity for me to offer my most heartfelt congratulations to the Institute on the auspicious occasion of its launch at the HKMA Annual Fellowship Dinner. This is a memorable occasion and also a milestone in the development of professional healthcare management in Hong Kong and the Region.
HCM aims to nurture human capital in the healthcare management sector through education and training; provide a platform for healthcare professionals with a view to exchanging ideas and fostering professional development; and promote best practices and innovations in the healthcare management sector, especially in ethics and professionalism. We have assembled a team of senior practitioners and professors who excel in healthcare industry to join the Advisory Board to offer advice and guidance which are crucial to the success of the Institute. I am indebted to my fellow colleagues on the Advisory Board for their commitment and invaluable contributions.
I am also pleased to share with you that in the past few months, we have organized a number of programmes and activities for the Hong Kong and Mainland healthcare professionals and institutions. These programmes relate to digital healthcare management, dental surgeons support services, and Chinese medicine for executive's health. We have received great support from our partners world-wide, including renowned universities and highly respected organizations. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to our supporters for making our programmes successful.
The HCM is ready to take on the challenges of serving as a learned platform for healthcare professionals, and we count on the support of industry experts and community leaders. We sincerely look forward to your active participation and continued support as we move forward.
