Objective
Intellectual property rights are cornerstones of business assets in today’s corporations.
It is important to business executives and marketing professionals to equip with the knowledge about licensing law concerning such rights.
The Programme provides a comprehensive overview of the laws of contract and intellectual property that are material to their daily tasks at work.
To further enhance their understanding and to facilitate direct application of knowledge to their work, the training content is designed with the focus on those contracts commonly used in daily commercial transactions normally encountered.
It also covers the key case laws and main means of alternative dispute resolution in relation to contractual disputes in such transactions, with reference to local and overseas experience.

- Copyrights, patents and passing-off
- Intellectual property rights licensing and trading
- Intellectual property rights infringement, protection and remedies
Contract Law Essentials for Intellectual Property Licensing (15 hours)
- Fundamentals of law of contract
- Terms of contracts
- Breach of contracts and remedies
- Termination of contracts
- Case studies for avoiding commercial traps and pitfalls
Intellectual Property Licensing Agreements and Dispute Resolution (15 hours)
- Essential terms of licensing contracts
- Drafting and structuring of licensing contracts
- Exclusion and limitation clauses
- Guarantees, warranties and indemnities
- Governing law, choice of court and international dispute resolution

Award
Executive Diploma in Intellectual Property Licensing Law will be awarded for those who have met all requirements.
Satisfactory Completion of the Programme:
The minimum required attendance rate is 70%. No assessment is required for the Programme.
Lecturer
The lecturers are practicing barrister or barrister-at-law. It ensures up-to-dated case laws would be shared to participants.
