The Hong Kong Management Association Launches the First "Training in the Round" Workshop Series in Hong Kong

19/4/2001

Today's workplace demands ongoing training to keep abreast with rapidly changing technologies, new systems and new procedures. The Hong Kong Management Association, in collaboration with the California State University, Hayward, are proud to present the "Training in the Round" Training and Management Development Workshops which offer comprehensive knowledge of the skills and processes needed for effective management and employee training.

The "Training in the Round" Workshop series consist of six individual two-day workshops. Upon completion of all the six workshops, participants would be awarded a "Certificate in Management, Training and Development" from California State University, Hayward. The programme has been successfully launched in the Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom and the California State University, Hayward; and is now brought to Hong Kong, the first area outside the States and the U.K.

To suit the busy schedule of Hong Kong executives, two sets of dates, one for this year and the other for next year, are scheduled for each of the six workshops. Such an arrangement gives the participants the flexibility of completing the programmes in six to fifteen months.

"Training in the Round" is an original and exciting model of training. Based on the energy, power and influence of theatre, these workshops will strengthen and build upon the participants' existing skills, and raise them to new levels of heightened self-awareness and confidence.

Through interactive activities, participants of the Workshops will learn to integrate the latest knowledge of adult learning theory and how to apply it in any training setting. They will gain authentic communication skills that inspire, motivate and change attitudes.

All six workshops will be led by Mr Julian Simmonds, President of JS Training Services. Currently based in California, Mr Simmonds is on the Alumni Faculty of Stanford University and is an Associate Professor with California State University, Hayward. He is also an Executive Training Director for Express Training, a leading training design company based in England and South Africa. Internationally, he has worked extensively in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Mainland China, Vietnam, Mexico and Mozambique as a strategic alliance and joint venture consultant.

For those who enrol and pay in full one month before the first day of each workshop, there will be an early bird discount of $300. The titles and dates of commencement of the six workshops are as follows:
