Results of the annual HKMA Quality Award, one of the most prestigious business awards in Hong Kong, were proudly announced by Dr Y K Pang GBS JP, Chairman of the Quality Award Organizing Committee and Deputy Chairman of The Hong Kong Management Association, during the Award Presentation Ceremony held today (Friday, 19 July 2018) at the InterContinental Hong Kong.

ASM Pacific Technology Limited and Gammon Construction Limited were awarded the Grand Awards in recognition of their strong commitment and distinguished achievement in total quality management. The Special Award for established and medium enterprises went to Ho & Partners Architects Engineers & Development Consultants Ltd (hpa) and the Special Awards For Small Enterprises And Start-Ups went to Ascensia Diabetes Care Hong Kong Ltd and DSG Energy Ltd.

GRAND AWARD WINNERS:

ASM Pacific Technology Ltd - Hong Kong Operations

It is a progressive company which demonstrates effective leadership with passion and clear focus on safety and innovations.

SPECIAL AWARD FOR ESTABLISHED AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES:

hpa (Ho & Partners Architects Engineers & Development Consultants Ltd)
hpa is a multi-disciplinary architectural firm in Hong Kong. It has been included in the "Band 1" List of Architectural Consultants and List of Building Surveying Consultants kept by HKSAR Government since 1992. The strong and forward-looking leadership has fostered a firm foothold in the Maintenance, Alteration and Addition (MAA) business which provides healthy and profitable business resources for fueling the lean and advanced new business initiatives originating from the smart city development. hpa is also actively engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility activities and help advocate innovation in the architectural and construction industries.

SPECIAL AWARD FOR SMALL ENTERPRISES AND START-UPS:

Ascensia Diabetes Care Hong Kong Ltd
Ascensia Diabetes Care is dedicated to improving the health and lives of people with diabetes by providing optimal and innovative solutions to patients. A clear vision statement is tied to achievable goals of team and individual members with recognition as motivation. The company treasures staff members as valuable resources and a homelike working environment is provided to enhance staff loyalty and productivity. DSG Energy Ltd
DSG operates as the sole licensee of Shell Gas, a market leading Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) brand in Hong Kong and Macao after a restructuring in 2018. It sustains its market position despite keen competition and shrinking LPG market. Safety is always the company`s priority and it has a "Goal Zero" target which hopes to achieve 6 million hours of lost-time injury free by September 2019. The company also demonstrates commitment to quality and strives to enhance customer engagement as exemplified by its innovative "myDSG" mobile app, first of its kind in the local LPG industry.

Introduction of the HKMA Quality Award

The Association introduced the annual Quality Award in 1991 to give recognition to those companies in Hong Kong which have made a lasting commitment to quality and also to provide an opportunity for companies to share with one another their experience in Total Quality Management. This year marks the 28th Anniversary of the HKMA Quality Award.
