The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) established a new specialist club namely the Professional Managers` Club (PMC) today (17 August) and its Launching Ceremony cum Leadership and Management Seminar 2017 and a Joint Club event: Sharing Session on "Marathon Skies" was successfully held at 3/F, Tower 2, South Seas Centre, 75 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, KOWLOON.

The HKMA operates under its auspices seven Specialist Clubs. These Clubs provide an important platform for its members with similar interests to network and develop further their specialist knowledge as well as to cultivate a sense of involvement in the Association. The Younger Managers` Club and the Management and Methods Club are now merged to become a new Specialist Club namely Professional Managers` Club (PMC).

Officiated by Mr Michael Lee JP, Deputy Chairman of the Association and Mr Lewis Soo, Chairman of PMC, the event attracted around 130 guests and members to attend.

At the event, Mr Michael Lee JP said, "The PMC gathers the business leaders, executives and students who excel or are interested in management to network, learn and share the latest trends in management to further promote a higher standard of professionalism in the field."

"I am most honored to have 7 executive committee members, joining me to form the Executive Committee of the PMC. I would also like to express my special gratitude to the Honorary Advisor, Dr Annie Wu SBS JP, for giving us a lot of guidance and support. A number of upcoming activities were planned, which include Seminar series on "Disrupt, Innovate and Evolve" cum Networking Drink, hiking activity in November and Wine and Chocolate Pairing Workshop in December." added Mr Lewis Soo.

After the launching ceremony, a seminar on Leadership and Management was held immediately with Ms Lanny Leung, Director & Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, Wing On Travel Service Limited and Mr Patrick Lee, Chief Executive Officer, Greater China Inchcape Hong Kong as the eminent speakers. After the seminar, the seven Specialist Clubs of the Association jointly organized a sharing session on "Marathon Skies" by Mr Walter Cheung, the Head of Communications and Corporate Sustainability, Hang Seng Bank Limited. Mr Chong Hiu Yeung was invited as the guest moderator of the session.

The objectives of the PMC are:

• To promote a high standard of professionalism in management.
• To keep members abreast of the latest trends in management.
• To provide a platform for executives who are interested in management to network and exchange ideas.
