THE HKMA LAUNCHED THE INAUGURAL
DIGITAL MARKETING COMMUNITY

The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) established Digital Marketing Community (DMC) today (27 March) and its Launching Ceremony cum Forum on "Staying Ahead of the Changing Digital Marketing Landscape" was successfully held at 3/F, Tower 2, South Seas Centre, 75 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, KOWLOON.

The HKMA operates under its auspices six Specialist Clubs. These Clubs provide an important platform for its members with similar interests to network and develop further their specialist knowledge as well as to cultivate a sense of involvement in the Association. To embrace the digital wave, the Association established a new Specialist Club namely Digital Marketing Community (DMC).

Officiated by Mr James Thompson, Chairman of the Association and Mr Esmond Mok, Chairman of DMC, the event attracted over 150 guests and members to attend.

At the event, Mr Thompson said, "the Digital Marketing Community gathers the business leaders, elite marketers, executives and students who excel or are interested in digital marketing to network, learn and share the latest industry trends and developments to further promote a higher standard of professionalism in the field."

"I am most honored to have 23 marketing veterans coming from different brands, digital platforms and agencies joining me to form the Executive Committee of the DMC. I would also like to express my special gratitude to the Hong Kong Advertisers Association (HK2A) for being our Strategic Partner." added Mr Esmond Mok. The DMC plans to host an annual signature event, "Digital Marketing Summit" in the first quarter every year and members will be steeping in a great variety of activities including but not limited to seminars, visits, networking drinks, breakfast and lunch gatherings all year round.

Ms Celine Ho, representative from HK2A said, "The HK2A is very pleased to be the Strategic Partner of the HKMA Digital Marketing Community. I am sure our members, who are the fellow marketers, advertisers and media owners, will be greatly benefited at large by leveraging the synergy between the two organizations."

OBJECTIVES OF DMC

The objectives of the DMC are:

  • To promote a high standard of professionalism in digital marketing.
  • To provide opportunities for executives who are interested in digital marketing to network with each other and exchange ideas on the latest industry trends and developments.
  • To enable continuous professional development in the industry.

The Hong Kong Advertisers Association (HK2A) will be the Strategic Partner of the Club.

ELIGIBILITY OF MEMBERSHIP

Members of the HKMA and HK2A who are interested in digital marketing, are eligible for the following club membership:

  • Senior Member
    Executives who play a leading role in marketing such as CMOs, Marketing Heads or occupy a senior management position, such as Department Heads, General Managers, CEOs are eligible for the Senior Member category.
  • Member
    All executives who are interested in digital marketing are eligible for Member category.
  • Student Member
    All full-time students who are studying in post-secondary and tertiary institutions are eligible for Student Member category.

Members of the Club will have a higher priority in joining the Club`s events and will enjoy a special rate for attending these activities. In the inaugural year (2017) of the DMC, membership fee will be waived.
