SPEAKS AT THE HKMA 54th ANNUAL FELLOWSHIP DINNER DR DENNIS SUN AWARDED HONORARY PRESIDENT

Dr Michael Chan Yue-Kwong, Chairman of Cafe de Coral Holdings Limited delivered a thought-provoking speech on "Is Management Innovation Dead?" to 500 members and guests of The Hong Kong Management Association at its 54th Annual Fellowship Dinner at InterContinental Hong Kong on Wednesday, 26th November 2014.


Fellow and Charter Membership

In the occasion, 17 new Fellows and Charter Members were presented. Fellows are individuals who have distinguished themselves in the management field either by example or by contributing towards the general body of theory, philosophy and management practice. The 4 new Fellows this year are:

Honorary Presidency

During the occasion, Dr Dennis Sun BBS JP, immediate past Chairman of the Association was awarded Honorary President. Mr Alfred Chan BBS, Chairman of the Association said, "Under Dennis` assertive guidance, the Association has undergone a remarkable re-branding project, which certainly went a long way in cementing our position as the premier organization advancing management excellence in Hong Kong and the region."


Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Award

To recognize the achievement of companies in staff training and human resources development, three companies were awarded the Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Awards. The Hong Kong Jockey Club is awarded "Most Significant Growth Award". Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited and Hospital Authority were awarded the MDCU "Largest Sponsor of Staff Members Award" and "Largest Sponsor of Training Hours Award" respectively.


Graduation Ceremony of HKMA/Lingnan Joint Advanced Diploma Programmes

The Graduation Ceremony of Advanced Diploma in Management Studies (ADMS) (formerly Diploma in Management Studies) and Advanced Diploma in Business Management (ADBM) (formerly Diploma in Business Management) was also held at the dinner. This year, more than 500 students successfully completed and graduated from the programmes. Established by The Hong Kong Management Association in 1975 (ADMS) and 1982 (ADBM), and jointly organized with Lingnan University since 1998, the ADMS and ADBM programmes aim to meet the needs of in-service managers and executives who seek a formal education in modern business management. Over 25,000 students have been graduated from the programme. The Advanced Diplomas are widely recognized by overseas universities and graduates are also granted membership or exemptions by a number of prominent professional institutes.
