MGSM Earns Prestigious AACSB Accreditation
6/12/2012
Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) is pleased to announce the formal accreditation of its MBA and management programmes by the international accreditation body AACSB International (AACSB) - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
MGSM joins an elite group of institutions that have achieved accreditation from AACSB International. Only 666 schools of business, or less than 5% worldwide, have earned this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education.
Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, evaluation, and adjustment and can take several years to complete. During these years, the school develops and implements a plan to meet the AACSB Accreditation Standards, which require a high quality teaching environment, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a curriculum responsive to the needs of businesses.
John J. Fernandes, President and Chief Executive Officer of AACSB International said, "AACSB Accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees.
"Through accreditation, Macquarie Graduate School of Management has not only met specific standards of excellence, but has also made a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver high quality education to its students."
Guy Ford, MGSM`s Interim Dean, said, "The particularly pleasing aspect of this accreditation is that the peer review team of the AACSB reported that the MGSM was setting best practice in three areas: its assurance of learning programme, connections with the business community and in the delivery of its mission and alignment of its core attributes.
"We are honoured and pleased to join the fine selection of AACSB accredited institutions around the world on the continuous journey to quality management education."
