The Hon John Tsang Chun-wah GBM JP, Financial Secretary of HKSAR Government delivered a thought-provoking speech on "Challenges and Opportunities for Hong Kong in the Midst of Current Global Economic Uncertainties" to nearly 600 members and guests of the Hong Kong Management Association at its 52nd Annual Fellowship Dinner at InterContinental Hong Kong on Tuesday, 20th November 2012.

Honorary President and Honorary Fellowship
During the occasion, Dr the Hon David K P Li GBM GBS JP, former Chairman of the Association was awarded Honorary President. Dr Dennis Sun BBS JP, Chairman of the Association said, "Under David`s assertive guidance, the Association has achieved exponential growth in both the number of members and participants in our programmes, awards and events."
In addition, Dr Elizabeth Shing BBS JP, former Director General of the Association was awarded Honorary Fellow. Dr Dennis Sun said, "The Association had transformed from a small management institute into one of the most comprehensive providers of career-oriented education in Hong Kong under Elizabeth`s dynamic directorship."
Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Award
To recognize the achievement of companies in staff training and human resources development, three companies were awarded the Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Awards. Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited and Neo Derm (Hong Kong) Limited were awarded the MDCU "Largest Sponsor of Training Hours Award" and "Largest Sponsor of Staff Award" respectively. Maxim`s Group is awarded "Most Significant Growth Award".
Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) Graduation Ceremony
The Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) Graduation Ceremony was also held at the dinner. This year, more than 400 students successfully completed and graduated from the programme. Established by the Hong Kong Management Association in 1975 and jointly organized with Lingnan University since 1998, the DMS programme aims to meet the needs of in-service managers and executives who seek a formal education in modern business management. Over 14,000 students have been graduated from the programme. The Diploma is widely recognized by overseas universities and graduates are also granted membership or exemptions by a number of prominent professional institutes. |
