2012 Annual Conference on
"Sustaining Growth in a Dynamic World"

The 2012 HKMA Annual Conference was successfully held on 12 November 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and attracted around 400 senior executives. The Conference brought together prominent business leaders who shared with participants their invaluable insight under the theme of "Sustaining Growth in a Dynamic World".
Mr Alfred Chan BBS JP, Deputy Chairman of the Association in his Opening Address pointed out that with the perceptible shift of economic power from the West to the East, there was a growing concern on how Hong Kong should reposition itself in the midst of opportunities and challenges. He further added, "The modernization in China will surely translate into a huge business opportunity across many sectors. On the other hand, regional competition has become increasingly more intense in recent years, particularly for us are Shanghai, Guangzhou as well as Singapore, and Hong Kong needs to find ways to out-perform its competitors."
In the Closing Address, Mr John Slosar, Chairman, Conference Organizing Committee; and Chief Executive, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd believed the Conference has been extremely insightful as the speakers have addressed the most important subjects that allow participants to grasp some of the key issues and ideas about sustaining business growth in face of challenges.
