The 17th Triennial AAMO Conference
"Winning in a Changing World- Innovation in Management"

The 17th Triennial AAMO Conference featuring the theme of "Winning in a Changing World- Innovation in Management" was successfully held on 14 and 15 September 2010 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Attracted over 1,000 senior executives, the Conference brought together a group of outstanding business, political and social leaders from around the Region to explore the issue of innovation in management from different perspectives.
In the Welcoming Address, Dr The Hon David K P Li, GBM, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Association, pointed out that innovation was the secret of making accurate predictions under a constantly changing environment. Companies that adapt to changes were more likely to attract the best talents. Overcoming obstacles with creative management was the first step to crossing to new performance thresholds and reaching new heights.
"For half a century, the HKMA has been fostering a culture of life-long learning among our employees," The Hon Henry Tang, GBM GBS JP, Chief Secretary for Administration of The Hong Kong SAR Government in his Opening Address commented.
Mr Tang added that successful companies of all sizes have adapted, and continued to adapt to the rapid transformations in technology. He echoed that the key to innovation was communication, but yet even with all the latest technology, people remained the greatest asset of any company.
In his Closing Address, Dr Dennis Sun, BBS JP, President of AAMO, believed that the Conference had provided a platform for the exchange of management knowledge, pooling collective wisdom by different speakers and evolving appropriate strategies and directions on many issues and challenges. In addition, the Conference had also reaffirmed the need of innovation in management.
