The Annual General Meeting of the Hong Kong Management Association was held on Tuesday, 6 July 2010 at its headquarters.

During the 49th Annual General Meeting of The Hong Kong Management Association held on Tuesday, 6 July 2010 at its Headquarters, Dr The Hon David K P Li GBM GBS JP, Chairman of the Association, was pleased to report that the Association offered more than 2,300 courses last year with a total enrolment of more than 48,000.
Hong Kong experienced a challenging time in 2009 brought by the immediate aftermath of the financial crisis. The Hong Kong Government has set an ambitious agenda in revitalizing the economy. With robust growth in China, Government is pushing ahead with new infrastructure projects and the development of new industries. "These efforts will bring new opportunities for our members, and our Association is responding to the challenge, addressing member`s needs and offering courses that are relevant to the emerging opportunities." said Dr Li.
The theme of the Association for 2009 was "Revitalising Hong Kong`s Competitiveness". A series of events were organized pertaining to the theme, which were well received by the Association`s members and the business community. During the past year, the HKMA explored new ways to fulfill the Association`s mission. "By combining our resources in different ways and by making these resources more accessible, we extend the value that we are able to offer to our members." added Dr Li.
At the Annual General Meeting, nine Council members were elected or re-elected.

At the Council Meeting held immediately after the Annual General Meeting, Dr The Hon David K P Li GBM GBS JP, Chairman and Chief Executive, The Bank of East Asia Ltd was re-elected Chairman. Mr Alfred W K Chan BBS, Managing Director, the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited was elected Deputy Chairman. Dr Ian Fok SBS JP, Managing Director, Yau Wing Co Ltd and Dr Dennis Sun BBS JP, Chairman, Fuji Photo Products Co Ltd were re-elected Deputy Chairmen. New co-opted Council Members included Mr James E Thompson GBS, Chairman, Crown Worldwide Holdings Ltd; and Dr Kelvin T Y Wong, Executive Director and Deputy Managing Director, COSCO Pacific Limited.
