The Hon Michael Suen Ming-yeung GBS JP, Secretary for Education, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, delivered a speech on "The World has Changed, So Must We - Is the New Academic Structure the Answer?" to over 550 members and guests of the Hong Kong Management Association at its 49th Annual Fellowship Dinner on Friday, 27 November 2009.

Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Award
To recognize the achievement of companies in staff training and human resources development, two companies were awarded the Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Award, including City Telecom (Hong Kong) Ltd and Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd. City Telecom (Hong Kong) Ltd is awarded for the MDCU Most Significant Growth Award and the MDCU Largest Sponsor of Training Hours Award. Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd is awarded for the MDCU Largest Sponsor of Staff Members Award.
Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) Graduation Ceremony
The Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) Graduation Ceremony was also held at the dinner. This year, more than 450 students successfully completed and graduated from the programme. Established by the Hong Kong Management Association in 1975 and jointly organized with Lingnan University since 1998, the DMS programme aims to meet the needs of in-service managers and executives who seek a formal education in modern business management. Over 13,000 students have been graduated from the programme. The Diploma is widely recognized by overseas universities and graduates are also granted membership or exemptions by a number of prominent professional institutes.
