The results of annual HKMA Quality Award, one of the most prestigious business awards in Hong Kong , were proudly announced by Dr David Sun, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Organizing Committee; and Chairman & Managing Partner, Far East Area of Ernst & Young, during the press conference of the Award held on Monday, 6 July 2009 at the InterContinental Hong Kong.
Pfizer Corporation Hong Kong Limited is awarded the Gold Award in recognition of its great commitment to Totally Quality Management. Hong Thai Travel Services Limited and Hewlett-Packard HK SAR Limited, Technology Solutions Group, Technology Services are awarded the Silver Award. Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited is awarded the Bronze Award. The Special Award for SMEs goes to The I-Consulting Group.
First launched in 1991 by The Hong Kong Management Association, the annual HKMA Quality Award aims to reward commitment in an age of change, and to bring public recognition to those organizations that have achieved outstanding standards of quality and made a lasting commitment to the process of quality management. A special Award for SMEs was introduced in 2006 to encourage their pursuit of Total Quality Management.
This year, the applicants coming from a broad spectrum of industries prove the reach and influence of the Award among the local business community. Commenting on the winners, the Panel of Judges and the Board of Examiners are deeply impressed with the efforts made by winners in understanding the needs of their customers. Following are some brief but specific comments on each winner.
GOLD AWARD WINNER:
Pfizer Corporation Hong Kong Limited

Hewlett-Packard (HP) Technology Services (TS) is an organization under Hewlett-Packard HK SAR Ltd, which targets customers include enterprise, commercial and consumer. HP TS supports products across HP. The company not only provides support, installation and startup service to hardware (server, storage, personal computer and printer) and software, but also Solution Infrastructure Practice, network solutions, and education services. HP TS sets its mission as striving to be the industry benchmark for customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering quality one stop value-added solution to Hong Kong customers. HP TS was the first IT service vendor in accrediting the ISO 900 1 certification in Hong Kong .
BRONZE AWARD WINNER:
Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited
Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited (HKBN) is the wholly-owned subsidiary of City Telecom (H.K.) Limited, major businesses include broadband Internet access, Internet Protocol (IP) enabled telephony, TV and corporate data services, among which, HKBN was the first to introduce 1Gbps upload and download symmetrical broadband service for residential use in Hong Kong. With HKBN`s dedication in building a new fibre network in Hong Kong , advanced telecommunications service has become highly accessible to the mass market. HKBN reversed the digital gap by offering better value and choices of broadband service to the mass residential market than those of the commercial and luxurious properties.
