Opening Ceremony of
The Towngas Management Development Centre

In order to meet the needs of students and to further enhance our services, The Hong Kong Management Association developed a fully-equipped training centre in Wong Chuk Hang. The opening ceremony was held on Friday, 12 June 2009 and officiated by Dr The Hon David K P Li GBM GBS JP, Chairman of the Association. At the opening ceremony, Dr Li highlighted that, "At this difficult juncture, we believe that the citys best defense against the economic headwinds lies in enhancing education and training to move the economy up the value chain." The establishment of the Towngas Management Development Centre enables the Association to better serve working adults and help expand the pool of managerial talent in Hong Kong.

Towngas Management Development Centre
Located at Southmark, 11 Yip Hing Street, Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen, Hong Kong, the Towngas Management Development Centre has a gross floor area of 22,876 square feet and consists of two interconnecting units on the 16th Floor of Twin Towers A and B. The centre will accommodate 80 members of the Secretariat and will serve as the venue for the Associations newly developed work-life balance programmes, which will include such innovative courses as wine appreciation. Southmark is a 33-storey curtain-walled building. It is conveniently located with access via the nearby Aberdeen Tunnel, and is well served by buses and minibuses. A future MTR exit is planned approximately 500 metres away.

The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) was established in 1960. As a non-profit-making professional organization, its mission is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of management in Hong Kong.

The HKMA is one of the largest providers of management training and education in the Territory offering over 2,000 training programmes to more than 50,000 participants annually. A diverse range of programmes are provided including Certificate courses, Distance Learning courses, Diploma and Professional Diploma programmes, seminars and workshops, Work-oriented short courses as well as Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees offered in association with various prestigious overseas universities.

To promote and give recognition to best practices of management, a series of Business Awards has been organized.
