Speaks at the HKMA 48th Annual Fellowship Dinner
24 Outstanding Individuals and Companies are Recognized

The Hon John Tsang Chun-Wah JP, Financial Secretary, HKSAR, delivered A Speech to over 550 members and guests of the Hong Kong Management Association at its 48th Annual Fellowship Dinner on Tuesday, 25 November 2008.

Fellow and Charter membership
During the occasion, 24 new Fellows and Charter Members were presented. Fellows are individuals who have distinguished themselves in the management field either by example or by contributing towards the general body of theory, philosophy and management practice. The five new Fellows this year are:

Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Award
To recognize the achievement of companies in staff training and human resources development, three companies were awarded the Management Development Credit Unit (MDCU) Award, including Farrington American Express travel Services Ltd, Neway Karaoke Box Ltd and The Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. Farrington American Express travel Services Ltd is awarded for the MDCU Most Significant Growth Award, Neway Karaoke Box Ltd is awarded for the MDCU Largest Sponsor of Staff Members Award and The Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd is awarded for the MDCU Largest Sponsor of Training Hours Award.

Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) Graduation Ceremony
The Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) Graduation Ceremony was also held at the dinner. This year, more than 450 students successfully completed and graduated from the programme. Established by the Hong Kong Management Association in 1975 and jointly organized with Lingnan University since 1998, the DMS programme aims to meet the needs of in-service managers and executives who seek a formal education in modern business management. Over 13,000 students have been graduated from the programme. The Diploma is widely recognized by overseas universities and graduates are also granted membership or exemptions by a number of prominent professional institutes.
