Dr Dennis Sun BBS JP Appointed AAMO President 2007-2010

The 16th Triennial Conference of the Asian Association of Management Organizations (AAMO) was held on 6-8 September 2007 at the Oberoi Grand Hotel, Kolkata, India.

This eminent event was held in association with the 34th National Management Convention organized by the All India Management Association (AIMA).

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, The Hon Ambrose Siu-kwong Lee IDSM JP, Secretary for Security of the Government of the HKSAR, said that the Convention would help bring together Asia`s best business minds to share the management insights gained through vast experience. He also invited investors and talents to participate in Hong Kong`s flourishing financial capital market. "Investors can freely choose their mix of return and risk," said Mr Lee on 6 September 2007 at the Inaugural Session of the Conference, attended by over 1,000 delegates from India and overseas.

Twenty-four delegates from the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA), a member of AAMO, participated in this international conference. The delegation was led by Dr Dennis Sun BBS JP, Deputy Chairman of The Hong Kong Management Association and Chairman and Managing Director of Fuji Photo Products Co Ltd.

Giving a speech under the topic "The Rise of the New Asian Giants" in the AAMO Special Session on 7 September 2007, Dr Sun highlighted the advantages and potential of partnering China and India to generate a momentum for world economic growth. "I believe China and India have tremendous potential for cooperation I am also confident that Hong Kong can be an important linking pin between China and India in view of the city`s advanced development as an IPO centre, a wealth management centre and a logistics hub," said Dr Sun.

AAMO Council Meeting was held on 9-10 September 2007, after the three-day conference. During the meeting, Dr Sun was appointed President AAMO for the period 2007-2010, and HKMA will take over AAMO Operational Office with effect from 1 October 2007.
