Scholarships for In-Service Executives

According to the "Hong Kong as a Knowledge-based Economy - A Statistical Perspective" announced by the Census and Statistics Department on 26 July 2007, percentage of human resources having attended degree/non-degree/postgraduate courses has increased remarkably from 15.8% in 1996 to 23.6% in 2006. Moreover, the proportion of employed persons who worked as managers and administrators, professionals and associate professionals has increased from 28.9% to 36%. In a nutshell, the result demands that continuous education has become an integral part of a learning economy.

To recognize the outstanding services of the late Mrs Susan Yuen to industry and commerce in Hong Kong, members of The Hong Kong Management Association and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, on the occasion of her retirement as Chief Executive of the two organizations, established the Susan Yuen Fellowship and Research Foundation.

The aim of the Foundation is to provide financial support for in-service executives to attend short and practical courses.

Programmes

The Susan Yuen Fellowship and Research Foundation provide full sponsorship for the recipients to take one of the following courses:

1. Professional Diploma in Marketing and Retail Management
2. Professional Diploma in Supervisory and Administrative Management
3. Professional Diploma in Customer Service Management
4. Professional Diploma in Investment and Financial Risk Management
5. Professional Diploma in Leisure Club and Resort Management
6. Certificate Programme on Taxation Practices in the Mainland
7. Certificate Programme on Warehouse Logistics Management
8. Certificate Programme on Professional Business English - Part I
9. Certificate Programme on Purchasing and Merchandising Management
10. Certificate Programme on Management
11. IMS-01綜合管理體系簡介工作坊
12. 【建立超卓團隊】證書課程
13. 【顧客投訴管理策略及處理實務-如何能夠化干戈為玉帛】工作坊

Eligibility

Applications for the Scholarships are open to

  • Hong Kong residents; 
  • aged over 18 with 2 years` working experience; 
  • in full employment; and
  • monthly income less than HK$20,000.

    Judging

    Applicants are requested to write a short essay of around 100 words (either in English or Chinese) on their reasons for seeking a scholarship and state how the scholarship will help to further their development.

    Applicants will be screened to ensure that their academic qualifications and career backgrounds will enable them to benefit from the courses.
