Mr Po Chung delivered a thought-provoking speech
on "The Hong Kong Plug, Use It or Lose It"
at the HKMA Theme Year Luncheon Talk

Organized by the Theme Year Working Party of The Hong Kong Management Association, a luncheon talk by Mr Po Chung SBS OBE JP, Chairman Emeritus, DHL Express (Hong Kong) Limited on "The Hong Kong Plug, Use It or Lose It" was held successfully yesterday (Wednesday, 16 August 2006) in support of the Association`s theme for 2006, "Hong Kong: the World City of Asia".

During the luncheon, Mr Chung delivered a very inspiring speech and introduced a new idea called, "Hong Kong Plug", which is an amalgamation of Eastern values found in Confucian, Buddhism and Taoism, and Western values and institutions stemming from Hebrew/Christian, Greco-Roman and Anglo/American civilization. He believed that all the people of Hong Kong have such a unique set of personal operating values which incorporate the advantages of both the Eastern and Western worlds. And he highlighted at the end of his speech, "If the world trusts us and knows your values, you can do more business with the world."

Mr Po Chung has excelled in a variety of domains. He began his career with degree in Wildlife Management. In the business domain, he is globally recognized as the co-founder of DHL Asia Pacific. In the area of community service, he served as a member of TDC, Tourist Board, Ocean Park, and the Hong Kong Management Association just to mention a few. In the philanthropic domain, he is well known for creating the Creative Initiative Foundation, which provides strategic review and planning workshops for NGOs. In the art world, he is appreciated for his leadership at the Hong Kong Art Centre and for his distinctive Chinese landscape paintings, for which he recently earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from RMIT. In 2004, Mr Chung reentered the field of higher education and created the "Five Dynamics of Entrepreneurship" a teaching framework that is the keystone curriculum of the Centre for Asian Entrepreneurship and Business Values at the Hong Kong University.
