To cater for the ever increasing demand for excellent and professional life insurance and personal financial planning services in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Management Association, in cooperation with the University of North Alabama, USA organized a Master of Business Administration programme (UNA MBA) with specialization in Wealth Management and Financial Planning.
The UNA MBA programme is fully endorsed and accredited by the reputable insurance organization, General Agents and Managers Association of Hong Kong (GAMA) as a programme which will help develop a new generation of life insurance and financial planning elites who are both professional competent and academically sound.
The signing ceremony and the programme briefing seminar was successfully held on Tuesday, 20 December 2005 at the Hong Kong Management Association. During the ceremony, Mr Joseph Sit, Chairman, Insurance Management Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association, highlighted that the launch of this popular MBA programme targeting at the insurance industry by the reputable University of North Alabama was indeed the best Christmas present to Hong Kong. This was also a programme long awaited by the Hong Kong insurance practitioners. He further stated as a people-oriented industry, continuing education was crucial for the improvement of the service quality of its practitioners so as to satisfy the ever increasing customer demand.

Upon completion, students will be awarded the MBA degree by the University. The programme will have the same worldwide recognitions as the on-campus MBA in regards to programme structure, module content, academic standing, quality of teaching and academic qualification. The teaching staff, all appointed by UNA, include management professionals, academics and experienced management executives from the Mainland and Hong Kong. All of them are holders of doctoral degree and possess rich teaching experience as well as working and research experience in multinational enterprises.

Introduction of The General Agents and Managers Association of Hong Kong
The General Agents and Managers Association of Hong Kong (GAMAHK) is a non-profit organization first introduced to Hong Kong by GAMA International (USA) since 1994. GAMAHK is the sole organization in Hong Kong representing the interests of more than 1,000 local insurance managers, or one-third of the total population of insurance managers. Introduction of The Hong Kong Management Association
The Hong Kong Management Association was established in 1960. As a non-profit-making professional organization, its mission is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of management in Hong Kong.
The HKMA is one of the largest providers of management training and education in the Territory offering over 2,200 training programmes to more than 50,000 participants annually.
