In order to meet the needs of students and to further
enhance our services, The Hong Kong Management Association developed
a fully-equipped training centre in Wanchai in 2000. The opening ceremony
was held on Monday, 28 June 2004 and officiated by Dr The Hon David K
P Li, GBS JP, Chairman of the Association. At the opening ceremony, Dr
Li highlighted that, The establishment of the HKMA Management Development
Centre on Hong Kong Island enables us to better serve working adults,
and help expand the pool of managerial talent in Hong Kong .

The Centre is located in Wanchai and
well served by different public transportation. It just takes three minutes
walk from the Wanchai MTR station. (2-4/F, Pico Power, 66 Gloucester Road
, Wanchai.) The centre, measures 13,247 square feet, has a total of four
floors and comprises five training rooms, which can accommodate more than
300 executives.
The training rooms are well-equipped with modern facilities which are
suitable for multi-purpose teaching and learning activities. They include
LCD projectors, PA systems, electric screens , visualizers , computers
, VCR players , wireless microphones, overhead projectors, white boards,
flip charts and so forth.

The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) was established in 1960.
As a non?profit?making professional organization, its mission is to improve
the effectiveness and efficiency of management in Hong Kong .
The HKMA is one of the largest providers of management training and
education in the Territory offering over 2,300 training programmes to
more than 55,000
participants annually. A diverse range of programmes are provided including
Certificate courses, Distance Learning courses, Diploma and Professional
Diploma programmes, seminars and workshops, Work-oriented short courses
as well as Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees offered in association
with various prestigious overseas universities.
The HKMA also offers free services to both members and the business
community at large. "The Hong Kong Manager", a bilingual professional
journal on management, was first published in 1965. Members can now get
access to it free of charge through the website of the HKMA, www.hkma.org.hk.
To cultivate a general culture of modern management, a series of Awards
has been organized. These include the Best Annual Reports Awards, the
HKMA Quality Award, the Award for Excellence in Training, the HKMA/TVB
Award for Marketing Excellence, the Hongkong Management Game and the
Distinguished Salesperson Award. |
