HKMA/TVB AWARD FOR MARKETING EXCELLENCE 2002 - AWARD PRESENTATION LUNCHEON TELLS YOU THE SECRET OF THE SUCCESS OF SHANGHAI XINTIANDI


In an increasingly competitive business world, marketing becomes an extremely important management function which determines the success and failure of a company. Upon the entry of China into the WTO, many companies plan to explore the Mainland market. However, it is definitely not a simple task. The Shanghai Xintiandi is one of the most well known successful cases.

The Hong Kong Management Association proudly announced that Dr Vincent Lo GBS JP, Chairman & Chief Executive, Shui On Group will be the Guest Speaker and will deliver a speech on "Hong Kong Marketing Experience Can Win in the Mainland - The Story of Shanghai Xintiandi" during the HKMA/TVB Award for Marketing Excellence 2002 Presentation Luncheon.

Each year, The Hong Kong Management Association organizes the HKMA/TVB Award for Marketing Excellence to provide excellent opportunity for companies to benchmark against the best marketing practices in Hong Kong. This year, a total of 54 outstanding marketing campaigns entered the Award and the top six campaigns have been shortlisted for the final judging before the Panel of Judges. They are (in alphabetical order of company names):

2. "Cathay Pacific - The World`s Biggest Welcome" by Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd
3. "Hang Seng Femina Banking - Lead a Fabulous Life" by Hang Seng Bank
4. " `M.I.Kid` Account - Develop your Children`s Potential for Great Achievements"
by Hang Seng Ban
5. "An Exceptional Community for An Exceptional Childhood - Discovery Bay Siena
One Marketing Campaign" by Hong Kong Resort Co Ltd
6. "The Making of RoadShow" by RoadShow Holdings Ltd

The results of the Award including the Gold, Silver and Bronze Prize winners, as well as the recipients of the Certificate of Merit, Citation for Innovation, Citation for Outstanding TV Campaign and Citation for Excellence in Mainland Marketing, will be announced at the Award Presentation Luncheon to be held on Thursday, 17 October. All the Awards will be presented by Dr Dennis Sun BBS JP, Deputy Chairman of the Association and Mr T K Ho, Group General Manager of the Television Broadcasts Ltd.
