A Wide Range of Master Degree Programmes Jointly Offered by the HKMA & MGSM are Now Open for Applications

Since 1994, the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) has cooperated with Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) in offering a number of high quality Master degree programmes to enhance the qualification of local executives and to help equip them with the knowledge needed to survive in this ever-changing business world.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Over the past 30 years, the MGSM MBA has established a reputation as one of the leading management qualifications in the Asia-Pacific. It was ranked top 8 MBA programme in Asia by Asiaweek (May 2000). With the great success of the Master of Management programmes in Hong Kong, the Association has cooperated with the MGSM in offering the MBA programme since 2000. Renowned for its quality, flexibility and extensive subject range, the MGSM MBA is designed for individuals already in positions of responsibility, who have been identified as possessing higher management and leadership potential. The programme is intensive and rigorous with a strong emphasis on workplace relevance. It can be completed in three years of part-time study. Details are as follows:

The Programme The programme offers a comprehensive grounding in general management and prepares students for the most senior positions in organizations - developing expertise to steer the organization's strategy and achieve competitive advantage.

The programme can be completed in three years of part-time study. It comprises 16 course units: 9 core units and 7 electives.

1. a degree from a recognized university or other tertiary institutions; and

Master of Management
The MGSM Master of Management programme is a specialized Master level programme that allows students to focus on a particular area of management. Taught at the same level as the MBA, the Master of Management has been specially designed for professionals who aspire to senior management positions within a chosen field such as marketing, human resource management or financial management.

The programme offered in Hong Kong is an intensive 18-month, part-time programme specifically tailored to suit the needs of the local students with active professional careers in a number of specializations including: Financial Management, General Management, Human Resource Management, Information Technology Management, International Management, Logistics & Operations Management and Marketing Management.

Programme
It is an interactive programme (and not a distance-learning programme), which involves 400 hours of face-to-face teaching in Hong Kong delivered by the talented and experienced MGSM academics from Australia. The teaching methods employed include: case studies, syndicate work, computer simulations, research assignments, guest presentations, role plays, class discussion and site visits.

Requirement
Applicants are required to have:

1. a degree from a recognized university or other tertiary institution; and

2. a minimum of three to five years' relevant work experience.(Candidates with polytechnic qualifications or professional diplomas / qualifications who can demonstrate appropriate work experience may also be considered.)

3. Applicants must be proficient in the English language both written and spoken, and meet the requirements of the University.

Remarks Graduates of the Master of Management programmes are only required to undertake additional six course units to get an MBA degree.
