The Youth Development Summer Camp in the UK

Overview

The Global Youth Development Programme provides a unique experience for young people to study and have fun together in a safe and beautiful university campus, where they can enhance their learning through academic classes, travel, activities and friendship. The 13-day programme will focus on four areas:

  • Competitiveness Enhancement
    Lessons cover Social English, Social Etiquette, Public Speaking, Financial Quotient (FQ), Leadership and Innovative Thinking, and Cross-culture Communication. Students will develop essential techniques to assist them with their future studies.
  • Future Development
    Courses cover career planning, personal sharing, and techniques on applying in UK studies. This class is designed to instill students with the skills and confidence of self-exploration, goals setting and self-expression.
  • Sports
    Taught by a professional and experienced coach, Hockey and Football courses are designed to promote sportsmanship, encourage teamwork and build confidence.
  • British Culture
    Students can have unique cultural experience to study through drama, enjoying royal English afternoon tea and studying social etiquette.

The enviable campus locations have good access to many of the UK’s top tourist cities and historical places. Students will go on day trips to cultural destinations across the UK. The destinations include the following: London (Big Ben, Westminster, Buckingham Palace, British Museum), Liverpool, Chester, Windsor Castle.

Location & Accommodation

New Beacon Campus is located in Stafford, in the middle of the UK. It takes about 1 hour by train to famous and well-known cities such as London, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. Stafford is known as the birthplace of the British Industrial Revolution. In 2015, it was voted the top ten best places for living in the UK.

New Beacon Campus was formerly the area of Staffordshire University, which includes the basic facilities of the university campus such as teaching buildings, library, sports centre, outdoor football fields and student halls. It is located in the “Midland Engine” area planned by the British government. It is a region where British digital technology and high-end manufacturing are concentrated and where the economy is growing fast. Therefore, the campus has focused on digital media and creative industry since 2003. In 2006, Media Technology Centre opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Hong Kong Management Association established a Global Academy UK Centre in New Beacon Campus to deliver educational programmes.

During the programme, students will live in single rooms at the New Beacon Campus’ student halls.

Programme Fees

HK$ 32,800

Early Bird Rate: HK$ 28,800 (Early bird rate applies if register and pay on or before 10th April 2020)

The fee is inclusive of accommodation in New Beacon Campus, meals, local transportation, attractions tickets and tips as described in the Programme Schedule.

Participants are responsible for their return tickets to and from the UK, insurance, visa and personal expenses.
