Introduction

The Six Thinking Hats® method is regarded as a powerful management tool for directing the thinking behaviour of any organisation in order to capitalise on the thinking potential of its human resources. The method was introduced in 1985 by Dr Edward de Bono, who is considered the leading authority world-wide in the field of creative and conceptual thinking.

Contents

This seminar trains participants in the effective use of Dr Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats®
method based on a practical hands-on tool-learning approach. After going through the
course, participants will have learned how to:

  • foster collaborative thinking and interaction by keeping egos in check
  • promote comprehensive thinking so that people do not get limited by negative or critical
    approaches
  • develop a framework that encourages diff erent ways of thinking and provides a more open, creative climate for discussion
  • create parallel thinking to harness ideas from everyone in the organisation
  • make time for creative thinking to develop alternative and innovative solutions
  • reduce the adversarial interactions
  • run more effective and productive meetings
  • use the method as an effective mode of submitting reports
