Dr Kate Maguire BSc MSc DPsych came into the Institute for Work Based Learning through her role as head of the DPsych programme at Metanoia Institute London, a joint programme with the professional doctorate at the IWBL. Her background is in social anthropology of the Middle East, conflict psychology and authority/power dynamics in organisations and society. She is focused on research which is relevant to organisations and the development of a new generation of professionals who need to not only manage complexity but navigate it. She writes and speaks on a range of related topics. Her current works include how we can conceptualise practice in order to research it and understand what matters in the context in which the research is taking place; and transdisciplinarity as an approach to both conceptualising practice and solving complex problems.
