Mr Zhu Haibin Chief China Economist and Head of Greater China Economic Research J.P. Morgan
Biography
Haibin Zhu joined J. P. Morgan in September 2011 as the Chief China Economist and Head of Greater China Economic Research. Prior to that, he had worked as an economist at the Bank for International Settlements for 10 years. At the BIS, Haibin wrote research on various topics such as the inter-linkage between the financial system and the real economy, risk management and bank regulation, China economy and real estate cycles. His work has been published at BIS flagship publications as well as in numerous academic journals. He was the recipient of various best paper awards in the areas of banking, real estate and fixe income.
Haibin Zhu obtained a Ph.D. in economics from Duke University and, prior to that, graduated from Beijing University (B.S.) and the Graduate School of People’s Bank of China (M.A.).
Speech Topic: “RMB internationalization and the role of Hong Kong”
Synopsis: Dr Zhu will talk about the recent and future trend of RMB internationalization, and the role of Hong Kong as the offshore RMB centre.
